WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY






               The World blood donor is observed on the 14 of June every year, The event was established in 2004.  It serves as a means of creating awareness for the need of safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their voluntary life saving gifts of blood.
              The world blood donor day is observed by all member states of the world health organization, and the theme for this years celebration is ''BLOOD CONNECTS US ALL''. The World Blood donor day is one of the eight official campaigns marked by WHO, The others include ;

# World Health Day

# World No Tobacco Day

#World Tuberculosis Day

# World Malaria Day

# World Hepatitis Day

# World Aids Day

# World Immunization

            Below are some facts about blood donation ;

1) 1 Percent of blood donation by 1% of a population can meet a nation's most basic requirement for blood.

2) 108 of blood donations are collected globally, half of these are in high income countries.

3) 62 Countries collect 100% of their blood supply from voluntary unpaid blood donors.
